Mission

Provide a forum by which local alumni clubs of highly ranked business school programs can share and coordinate events, with a focus on networking and educational opportunities.


Objectives
  • Provide and promote events of interest to and for the benefit of each club’s membership

  • Increase alumni involvement in each member school’s club through offering a diversity of activities and events that each respective club may not be able to offer and provide on its own

  • Share the efforts, expenses, and benefits of co-sponsored events with other business school clubs

  • Sponsor events that will increase the visibility, awareness, and reputation of SBSA member clubs within the Puget Sound region and beyond

  • Sponsor and promote events that provide continuing education opportunities for alliance members and networking opportunities between alumni of members schools and prominent business leaders


Operating Parameters
  • Bi-Monthly board meetings (6 per year)

  • Regular social/networking gatherings with a goal of 1 per month and alternating locations between downtown and the eastside

  • Maintain a website, communicating a list of the member schools, key contacts, and calendar of events

  • Each member school must sponsor of co-sponsor a minimum of one non-happy hour event per year (speaker, panel, seminar, etc.), with the event being open to all member schools to attend

  • Monthly communication of upcoming activities broadcast to board members and in turn to each club’s membership

  • Each member school shall designate one representative to the SBSA board of directors

  • Board members must attend 80% of board meetings (5 of 6) per year

  • Executive director will be nominated and elected for one year terms each calendar year

  • Target membership is from 10 to 20 school clubs, and membership will be reviewed annually, with decisions being made for additions and/or reductions by the board of directors

  • Decisions are made by majority vote, with an effort made to reach unanimous consensus
